Curious to know how grown-up Harry and his pals might look like?
For the entire Harry Potter Fans out there, a most commemorative and auspicious occurrence has manifested. JK Rowling has just recently published a story regarding Harry and his friends on her Fan Website. The story basically is a narrative that reveals how Harry, Ron and Hermione will appear in their thirties.
The story’s setting is the Quidditch World Cup Final and the most novel aspect of this narrative is that it assumes the form of a gossip report written by none other than the reprehensible Rita Skeeter (Fans of Harry Potter will most certainly be acquainted with this name). Set during the Quidditch World Cup final, the story takes the form of a newspaper gossip column written by the aforementioned Daily Prophet reporter.
It is mentioned in the story that Harry potter is about to turn 34. The story takes on the form of a Daily Prophet article and informs readers that Harry Potter continues to don his signature round glasses and is starting to sport quite a few strands of silver hair in his otherwise black mane. The story is also quite lucid when it comes to depicting Harry’s physical appearance. For instance, he now sports a scar along his right cheekbone as well.
As for Ronald Weasley, the other half of the famous duo has also been shown to be influenced by the rigors of time. Allusion to the aforementioned is exhibited when it is mentioned that his once thick mop of ginger hair is beginning to deplete in volume. He has now quit his Ministry job and instead functions at his brother’s Joke shop, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes (you probably knew the name right?)
And where’s harry and Ron, you can bet that Hermione won’t be far behind. She is also mentioned in the story. She has apparently risen through the ranks of the Ministry of Magic like Harry and where he has now become a prominent Auror (Sort of like a Dark Wizard Police force), she has acquired the position of Deputy Head of the Magical Law Enforcement Department. Seeing as how Hermione and Rita shared a most adversarial nexus in the past, it was utterly predictable to note that Skeeter makes an unusually snide remark pertaining to Hermione’s hair and appearance in the story.
The story also shows that Harry along with his sons James and Albus went to see the Quidditch World Cup final. Viktor Krum, the Bulgarian Seeker is also mentioned in the story (when he meets Harry and his sons according to skeeter). Ginny Weasley, however, was absent from the event according to the story.
To put it mildly, the story is mainly a narrative that seeks to make lucid to readers the life of Harry, his friends and his family in the future. Readers are treated to an insight about the characters appearances, their relationships with each other, their professions and so forth. What makes this story so refreshing is that it’s written from the perspective of a fan renowned, yet notorious, character like Rita Skeeter. This lends an almost vigorous appeal and uniqueness to the whole narrative thereby making it that much more enjoyable and vibrant to readers. Fans of the series won’t be disappointed as the story serves as a conduit for delivering unto them more of what they covet (more Harry Potter).
